Hospital) Kolkata West Bengal India.The Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research and Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial Hospital, colloquially known as P G Hospital or SSKM Hospital is a tertiary referral government hospital.From 16th January 1957, the college was renamed as The Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER). Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER), Kolkata was established in 1957 by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of india.In 2004, IPGMER was converted into a medical training institute as well. Earlier Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research was affiliated to University of Calcutta from 1957-2003.
