"The college was set up by women who belonged to Christian missionary societies in Canada, the US and the UK.Women's Christian College was founded on 19th July 1945 under the aegis of the Bengal Christian Council by a group of Christian educationists.Women's Christian College, or WCC, is an interdenominational women's college on College Road, Nungambakkam, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.Womens Christian College (WCC), Chennai was established in 1915 as a joint venture of 12 missionary societies from England and USA.The Women's Christian College was founded in 1915 and is affiliated to the University of Madras. It has grown to a strength of over a 2,712 students.
